The brand Ontour was created in the year 2005 and is now run by three men from the Netherlands. Slowly but surely it has been gaining in popularity. Their motto? 'What goes Ontour stays Ontour.'
Ontour clothes are edgy, stylish and always bang on trend. The creators are inspired by a mixture of stories and of course adventures from their own lives giving rise to their contrasting coloured graphic t-shirts and other understated simple designs. Each piece of clothing has a tale to tell. The creators of this label use each new season as an opportunity to come up with a strong, singular theme which runs through all of the Ontour clothes in that season's collection; the theme always has a taste of the creators signature style.
Some of their shirts have been inspired by the Brothers Grimm German folktale known as 'The Bremen Town Musicians'. They have used the characters from this story, namely a cat, a dog, a donkey and a rooster and integrated these characters (who met on tour!) into their shirt designs. These characters decide they're not putting up with working for anybody else and run away to fulfil their dream of becoming 'town musicians'. This quirky fairytale has been used by the creators of this brand to produce some unique, funky pieces of clothing. And of course, the story mirrors their own life stories; leaving their dull jobs behind and living the dream of having their own fashion label. Shirts such as these are not mass produced and only a small quantity are made available. Future themes will be just as inventive and will feature even more madcap characters.
